I read in one horoscope for the year, must have been back in january, that 2008 is my luckiest year for 12 years! And not just mine, all virgos i believe.
I’m not too sure how accurate that is but having said that i won £3 at my mums playing cards one night and i finally won £50 on the premium bonds! That was the most exciting post i’ve had in ages.
Then, there’s a fabulous pub quiz we sometimes go to on a wednesday, seriously the most fun to have on a wednesday night with your clothes on. They do a quiz and bingo and spin the wheel of fortune and play your cards right. And the old favourite ‘open the box’. So last time we went i got a ticket for open the box, some other bloke had a go first, had to spin the wheel and land on ‘open the box’ anyway he didn’t so then he had to pick a ticket and it was mine, i spun, landed on open the box, then i had to choose one of 3 keys to open the box. There was over 300 quid which was so exciting. I picked the wrong key! Never mind! They gave us a bottle of wine anyway.
Lucky huh?
I have been so crap at this. I’ve entered all kinds of prize draws and have nothing to show for it, except junkmail and spam. Zilch. Last month I entered a ‘real’ competition, playwriting. I’m guessing there’ll be at least a couple of thousand entries. The odds don’t look great. Fingers crossed.
2 of my friends won trips by joining TV competitions. One went to a Safari trip in Africa, and one to New Zealand. I was her guest in the NZ trip. Recently, I joined a competition for a once in a lifetime trip to Antartica. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I wish I could win something because I earned it. Feels better that way ;-)

hey all! i’ve my comp! – very pleased about it too lol.
A word of the wise – don’t overload yourself. Consider if you’re able to prepare properly for your comp (in my case, a photographic essay ;)) and don’t give yourself too much on your plate. If you’ve school work or something that is due at the same time, consider carefully if you can complete to a standard that you’ll be happy with. Both things could turn out sub-standard.
And if you don’t win in the first comp you enter, check out what did win and remember for your next time. Previous experience is what makes you closer to winning, usually!
Wish goodluck and motivation to yas all!
