be in an art show

I really would like to display my artwork. Plus I would like to do some new pieces.

so this is not a great photo but it is my work on show at our exhibit. I have got some better pics of the works individually but I thought this the most appropriate for this entry.

I’m really happy with how it all turned out.
But I still feel I don’t want to mark this off.
I want to be in a show that was not to do with school.
I keep saying this!
But I feel this was an important step in the process :)

Thursday is our final exhibition for the course I’ve been studying over the Summer period. It is the first show where I’ve had more professional input and insight into how to put my work on display and I am really pleased with the work I’ve completed for the show.

I was thinking that this goal was about being in a show that was not connected to school so I might try to submit some of my works somewhere once they come down of the walls there.

At school we had a mid-term show. It was a good experience & I tweaked my space almost obsessively but was very happy with what I showed. Only downside was I could have shown MORE!

Now we are working towards another show in February but I am not wanting to mark this off until I have been in a show that was not connected to study!

because I have already been in a few art shows… but they don’t feel that real because they’ve always been linked to schooling.

I’ve had work in the Dowse Art Gallery & at both my art schools shows. I want something that I’ve done more off my own back.

& I’ve found the avenue… details to come.

We’re putting on an exhibition which is opening next week. Students of my school… I’m putting in two pieces. It’s all a bit sketchy but will become clearer through the week, the finer details. It will be gooood!

I don’t care if any of them sell, I am excited to get some of them back… they are beautifully matted, framed, titled and signed like the real art they are…. LOL.

It is a great feeling.

I need to start doing this with more of my photos, treat them like art because they are exactly that: art.

I dont know if I can really check this one as done or not because I was sorta in an art show in May. It was more of a competition. I didnt win or anything but it was just insanly exciting seeing my work hanging up for everyone to see (yea it was a little nerve racking as well but all in all very fun!) And coming up in September I get to be a part of this really cool art festival in my city which is really exciting I just have to come up with what pieces I want to take and what not….

I need to take all my pretty pictures off my walls, and all the stuff in storage, and move them to a gallery wall….Maybe in the process sell some of it or atleast get rid of it. Anyone have a connection to a gallery in chicago?
