Teach a Writing to Heal class

I started a writing group at work. It is fun. I hope to do more of this with clients.

I just watched this tonight. Awesome DVD. She leads writing groups at a maximum security women’s prison. Then actors, Glenn Close, Marisa Tomei, Rose Perez and others read their writing. This is what I want to do. (If Glenn and Marisa and Rose don’t show up, that’s fine. It’s not really the point. All though they were really amazing.)

I presented poetry therapy to my co-workers yesterday. It went very well. Go me!

I am presenting this to staff this month. I have also been using this with clients. It is a start. It’s pretty amazing. People just write until their hands are about to fall off. It pulls so much out.

I spent two beautiful days in Portland at a Poetry Therapy conference. Lots of writing both in the conference and alone by the water. It was very beautiful. I have already scheduled to do this with my co-workers next month. From there, more. Go, me.
