42 more days to decide what goes in two suitcases, a laptop bag and a book bag.

So far I’ve stuffed non-essentials, like my winter coat (which I’ll need around November), my boots, funeral skirt, red dress, formal event heels and other odds and ends like this into the duffle suitcase. The upright trunk will get the essential everday clothes I’m currently wearing, the laptop bag various electronics and important papers, and my bookbag will be carry on essentials like my enroute nibbles and purse with wallet.

I’ve packed up nearly everything. There’s a bunch of last minute stuff around the house that I need to gather up, including the cat, but I’m in good shape. My bf is already moved in, although I did find another ukulele when I was packing up the last of the closets…

Incidentally, I may not have internet access outside of work ‘til the guys come by on Thursday, so if I’m not around, that’s what’s going on…

I still have more stuff to pack up, but I only have a few things from each category left. I still need to take down all of the pictures and pack up all my files, but everything else is down to just one last box. I think I’ll actually spend a good bit of time tonight ferrying things back and forth, rather than desperately boxing things up. It’s supposed to be clear tonight, so I could make a couple of trips and not have to worry about the movers manhandling my plant or bother with boxing up my hanging clothes.

Last night I did some more packing and organising. The biggest thing I did was pull down everything that lives on a high shelf, since we’re going to take the ladder over to the new place. I also made more space to pile up the boxes I’ve finished. There is very little left in my kitchen, with nothing in my upper cabinets. There’s also nothing in the upper bits of my closet. All of my liquids are boxed up as well.

My boyfriend is moving out his stuff on Thursday and Friday, so I’ll have more space to move things around by the time I really need to pack everything up on Friday night. The movers come Saturday, but I think I’m doing okay…

i am starting tonight. my goal is to get my kitchen in boxes… i am worried that 20 boxes might not be enough for all my stuff… eep. we shall see

ps- where is it all going in the new place?!

I’ve packed up nearly everything in my desk. I’m still about 10 days out from actually being able to move, so I have left a drawer of essentials and some of my important files… For the kitchen, I’ve emptied out a whole cabinet and I’ve at least started cleaning out most of the drawers and packed up most of the dishes. I had a huge pile of glass jelly jars to recycle too.
