(Yes, I do own a conch shell. Gotta problem?)

Yay! And I finished a day early. Now I just have to move and I’ll be one happy camper. Not The Happy Camper of course, just one happy camper.

I think I’ve got 10 boxes done now. The kitchen, extra bedroom, office, and extra bathroom are pretty much done. Luckily I am able to leave some of the heavier things (a HUGE wardrobe and all my books) there for now. Now I just need to pack my shoes and clothes. Oy.

I have one box done. Everything else left. Plus I need him there for a lot of it because I don’t know if half the shit is mine or his.

Well it had better be since it’s 4 am now. I found that the boxes being all over the place really stressed me out, so I took the time, now that the boxes are mostly done, to properly organize them in the closet and it’s made light years of difference on my stress level!
So I wanted to impart some packing words of wisdom.
1. You will find a tape gun useful (or not, YMMV)
2. You will need more tape than you think
3. Corollary to 2: You will need more newspapers than you think (You’d think that I would have learned my lesson by now, last time I had to go and BUY newspapers because I was packing at the last possible millisecond)
4. Don’t pack at the last minute (:P again, you’d think I’d have learned my lesson by now)
5. Take breaks and take the time to spoil yourself, moving is stressful, give yourself a break! (In my case, I’m going through liters of my personal fave black cherry water)
6. Label everything
7. Label everything
8. Label everything
9. Advise imparted on me: Label everything on all sides
10. Have a large garbage bag open
11. Always pack your phone last
12. Music is good. (I’m also packing my computer + speakers last for that very reason)
13. A big box of stuff to give away is also useful.
And now if you’ll excuse me I have to go and pack a box full of random stuff that doesn’t quite fit into predetermined categories.

Did two more today or was it three, I can’t remember.
Threw in all the bathroom stuff I don’t use on a regular basis. I recently went on a purge of a great deal of my bathroom stuff

Packed my dollhouse in a box I found going out to the garbage that was just the perfect size, along with some clothes to pad it.
Also packed some of my food, all the cans at least. Thankfully I went through huge amounts of purging so I won’t be moving with four boxes full of food that I’ll never eat.
I think I’ll go and pull out my big duffel bag for my sweaters.

Seriously, because it’s not going to pack itself.
I’m moving next Saturday and I still have most of the apt to pack. Next Saturday, I think I have to really let that sink in. I’m absolutely petrified of being completely on my own and I’m really dragging my feet about all this.
Not good.
The best laid plans of mice and men…

10 days left… AIEEE!
Managed to get some photo albums and most of my decorations in boxes this “weekend.” I’m really dragging my feet about this move because I really don’t want to move, but I need to pick up the pace and get on it.
On the other hand SHEDing stuff I don’t need is going very well.
