i realized today that i’m not. and i have $45,000 in college debts that should prove otherwise.
It is not easy to be a photographer, let alone be a good photographer. You need a lot of practices and learn from mistakes.

When I discovered something called ‘depth of field.’
This is the distance from the camera and depth of a scene that will be in focus when you take a photograph.
The DOF is dependant on the apeture (f-stop) you use and the focal distance of the lens. It is greater at smaller (bigger number) settings like f16 than it is at larger settings such as f2 – my ususal setting. The depth of field also seems to be greater with wide angle lenses – such as 28mms.
I discovered a great tool for explaining depth of field here
Prior to discovering this bit of information I shot photos by focusing the lens on something in the center of an scene I was shooting then ‘splitting the difference’ between the subjects I wanted to be mostly in focus – giving my photos a kind of unintentional ‘soft focus’ effect that I do not mind so much now that I know it’s my own personal technique.
New York Photgraphy Institue?
It’s a correspondence school for photgraphy…I’m toying with the idea of taking their Pro Photography course. The local college doesn’t teach with film anymore and I don’t have the freedom to take regular classes anyway.
Is it a quality program or just a scam?
I don’t get it – Many of my shots seem to be out of focus…
My doctor checked my eyesight – It’s very good, 20/13 in fact – I see at twenty feet what others see at thirteen. I should see an optomotrist maybe…
Or, I’m missing something…
I have been trying to do this for a little while now. I got a nice new camera a few months ago, and I like to think some of the pictures I take are pretty good. I post the best ones on my web page at http://community.webshots.com/user/pgmark . Check it out and it you think they’re good, let me know. Thanks!
I love taking pictures. I’ve finally starting a website where i can keep them all together, the link is:

take a look and tell me what you think…be honest!
I often dream of able to take good photographs and share it with friends on my blog or my website
Now I have my digital camera I have to learn how to use it.
I went to the library yesterday and got out a book on digital photograpy. It was the only book they had in on the subject. So obviously a popular thing to learn!
