TurtleWho Time Lord
I’m currently on the second section of the original book – I love it so far, despite the odd structure and narrative.
How I did it: I started out with the first three Dune books in a great big book - it was pretty huge and impossible to take anywhere with me. So I re-bought all three, and from there reading the original was much easier.
Lessons & tips: Stick with it, it's a difficult book. Herbert often makes leaps in the narrative that require you to catch up. But in the end, it's worth reading it.

brought it to my parents’ house this weekend and left it there on accident (along with my anatomy textbook). waiting to get it back in the mail. I don’t have much time to read lately, but when I do I can really get lost in the story.

I’ve read the first book and half of the second one. I really like it so far, and I hope the rest of the books will be just as exciting as these!

Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.
So I’ve become addicted to knitting, I really have. It’s only because it’s so amazing… anyway, I need to read this giant book by Sept 21st! I figure, what better way to continue to knit AND get my homework done than to get Dune on audiobook! It’s 18 CDs!! It’s 50 bucks at Barnes and Noble and I almost reasoned my way into paying it, but I got the idea to check out librariessss!!
GOOD thing I just paid my library fines from 5 years back, because they just ordered it for me and it will be here in a few days for freeeee. I couldn’t be more tickled. Well, unless I was actually being tickled.
It’s for honors symposium and I am so determined to do well in that class. I guess I’ll have to suck it up and get through it. Maybe I won’t hate it :D Can I just say that I LOVE wheat crackers!?
I’ve now read all of the original Dune series. Frank Herbert sure was an unusual author. Gave me plenty to think about, too.
