Starting up this semester, hoping to bounce back into 4.0 territory.

hippie1427 Is going to be uber productive this year
but it’s so worth it to see a high GPA, and even more worth it to put said GPA on your resume`
I haven’t been here to play in forever because I have been very busy being a model student. I had to write a paper for 17th century lit (I got an A & a “brilliant” eee!) and there was an exam in child psychopathology on Monday then today I had another history paper due and then tomorrow I have another test in my psychology of prejudice/stereotyping class but I am taking a study break now because oh wow my brain.
Things are looking good! Dean’s list here I come!
here we are at the beginning of another semester. my goal is the same, to make a 4.0 this semester as well. i don’t think i’ll have a problem doing this :) hopefully
it was hard work because i was working full time as well this semester. there were a lot of nights i had to pass on going out with my friends but i love that i accomplished this. it feels so rewarding!
i did it!! i made a 4.0 this semester….
this now brings me to senior status, and brings my overall GPA to a 3.5 which means i’ll graduate cum laude and on dean’s list.
woo hoo go me :)
I am 55 years old and graduated with a 3.96. I got one B as an undergrad. from a Sociology professor who said I needed to learn some humility…so I made a 4.0 for six or seven semesters. It is hard work but worth it. I have a doctorate now and three masters degrees. Now I am a college professor and I get to give the As. I demand excellence, however, because I don’t think anyone wants to be given an A (OK some people do but they are not the ones who really make As. It’s weird because the more people demand from the themselves the better they do in school, work, relationships etc. The more they put the responsiblity on other people the less they excellence they really achieve and deserve.) Anywhooo (I love to say that) the trick is to take complete responsiblity for the outcomes of your endeavors.
so to help with my 4.0 goal the following are things i accomplished this week that will help bring me closer to this goal… i read all the homework articles assigned for my classes. i went to all my classes even though i was sick. i began working on my photography project and i began studying for my Forensic final exam.
okay so i’m only taking two classes this semester (i work full time): Forensic Osteology and Aliens and Hipsters in Cold War America. In my forensic class, we have 3 exams and in the Cold War class we have no exams only papers and discussion.
SO yesterday we received our second exam grades in my forensics class. my first exam i made a 92 and this second exam i made….a 90! on my way to that 4.0… i’m so proud of myself for this. this class is intense. there are only 10 people passing that class and of that 10 only 3 of us are making A’s. the prof. says that it’s harder than med school anat. classes. anyway, it’s an accomplishment. just one more exam to go.
as for my cold war class. ever paper i’ve turned in i’ve received a B on. But my prof told me that basically if you put effort into your papers and do any rewrites she suggests (which i have), you show up for class and participate in the discussions and show her that you understand what’s going on, she’ll give you an A. so that means i’m still on track for my 4.0. i almost feel like it’s cheating though, but i’ll take what i can get lol
I did this last semester, but won’t be able to this one. Basically I studied my butt off and lived at the school.
