Cricket World Cup 2007 in Jamaica 2 years ago

Travelled to Jamaica to support the West Indies. We cheered for Brian Lara and the boys. Drank and partied on the mound as the Windies beat Pakistan and Zimbabwe, qualifying easily for the 2nd Round.
Wished I could have stayed for the final group game against Ireland; after all it was down hill from their for the host team.
I am very glad that I made the trip. Unfortunately it would be the last time that I would see one of the world’s greatest cricketers play.
Thanks for the memories Brian Lara. Enjoy your “retirement”.

Day for the Minnows 2 years ago

Well I’ve been to three of the four warm-up matches held here in Trinidad, and they were all good! I also got to meet my favourite cricketers!! (from South Africa and Pakistan) and some of the Irish players as well. I think Ireland has made a really good impression here, and in Jamaica as well, and they are presently killing Pakistan!(103/7) :-/
I’m going to the Sri Lanka/Bangladesh match on Wednesday, and looking forward to it…the Bangladeshis are really friendly, and deserve a chance. It must be hard for them to be playing against India today, after receiving news that one of their fellow cricketers died in Bangladesh (in a motor vehicle accident) yesterday. But they’re doing great so far!!They have India at 169/9…

    spring break 2 years ago

My husband and I are going with a group of his collegues from the chemistry department here during our university’s spring break. They are huge cricket lovers. All of them had scores up on there doors during regular season. My husband is an england fan, one guy is a Westies fan, while another is a Zimbabwe fan. But love to watch no matter who plays. This year is great with it being so close for us. It is hard to tell this department is actually in the US because the sports they watch are cricket, rugby and soccer. But then again I think only one of them was born in the states.

^ MARK BOUCHER (presently my favourite cricketer(he’s South African)

I have always wanted to go to some major world sport event. I love sports and especially cricket and football(soccer)!!and so FINALLY now that the Cricket world cup is here in the Caribbean I have the opportunity to go. It’s so exciting knowing that something so big is being held here.
I have tickets for two of the warm-up matches(in which two of my favourite teams are playing-South Africa and Pakistan) but I have to go back to get tickets for the actual matches (I couldn’t decide which ones I want to go to!).I have to hurry before they all sell out.
