Sister Golden Hair I'm like Rasputin. I get back up again.
Just when I thought it wouldn’t happen before September it happened! I’m so excited!
What could possibly make me this happy and excited, you ask? Well, for the last year I have been doing serious potty training with the boy child. He could pee all day in the potty but he would not poop in the potty. No amount of bribery worked (yes I bribed). Animal crackers, M&M’s, chocolate kisses, toys, etc. We worked and we tried but he didn’t want to do it. He even said he would not do it until he was four. When I would ask him if he wanted to go poop in the potty he would ask me if he was still three, when I said yes he’d say it wasn’t time yet. OY!
So last Wednesday we were at the park. We had a nice little picnic and then they were playing on the play structure when all of a sudden Jake says, “Mama, I think we have to go home because I have to go poop. I need my diaper.” (I forgot to mention that Jake has been wearing underwear for weeks and weeks now because he is pee trained.) I said, “Well, if we go home right now we won’t go to Target or the grocery store. We will just stay home after you’re done.” He thought about it for a sec and then said, “I think I’d like to try to poop in the potty here at the park.” I said, “Okay, let’s go!” We all piled into the restroom and he sat on the potty. And he pushed and he said, “NOPE not going to work. I need a diaper.” I told him to be patient and just sit there a bit longer and that he didn’t have to push that hard, when it was ready it would just come out… So he sat a couple of more seconds and out came the poop! He was SOOOOO excited! I was excited! EVEN Katy was excited! We were clapping and high fiving! It was super cute! Then Katy screamed, “Jake! I’m SOO proud of you!!” and he said, “I’m so proud of myself too!” WOW! I was just the proudest mama in the world that day… Everything is going to be peachy keen! I can just feel it!
