raise money for a good cause

We raised thousands of $ for refugees from Afghanistan & Darfur. And I got to walk 22 miles through beautiful wilderness!

For my sister’s disease Cystic Fibrosis.

An alternative to this might be to collect something to donate…maybe books for a homeless shelter, or for a library…maybe even one of those donkey or camel mobile libraries they’ve started in Africa. Lots of young women also have old dresses they don’t wear anymore, those could be collected and sent to girls in a poor neighborhood to wear for prom…kind of like a ‘Dress for Success’ for youth, only more for their enjoyment than anything else. The logistics with this might be harder, however, as dresses are probably more difficult to ship…and then you have to worry about sizing, stains, rips and tears, etc. But still an idea…
