"It's been great so far. Only a month in, but I love it :)"

How I did it: Applied to the school I was interested in and got accepted.  Got accepted for a loan for tuition, allowed my contract to expire at my previous work place, and now I'm a month into school!

Lessons & tips: Don't give up... if you really want to go to school, you can make it happen ;-)

How I did it: take a tour and if you like what you see, sign up! you can usually ask if you can shadow a student for a day to see how interested you are in it, and it's really easy to walk in and get your hair done to get an idea of the experience too. it's awesome getting to talk to people every day and do what i love! :) Read how I did it…

    While I am happy to be learning the skills required to become a hairdresser, I have not had to tolerate such BITCHINESS since fucking high school. It is truly sad when teachers and students feel the need to indulge in passive aggressive bullshit.

    A word to those who have natural talent and a shred of maturity: your teacher may get jealous and if s/he does, watch your back. Seriously. Just keep your head down and work hard and get the hell out of there.

    Five more months to go. Gah.
