well, I’m pretty pissed off as I was supposed to go to a conference a few weeks ago, and was awarded funding from med school, but this woman I hate withdrew it at the last minute and I couldn’t afford to go. But, am determined to make it still, and am going to forget about med school people who don’t get what I want to do and seem to continually hold me back, and instead I’m going to work even harder at this and attending conferences, even if I have to keep everything quiet from school. Otherwise, I am going to continue to miss out on opportunities because I’m always doing what med school want me to do. I know they think they have my best interests at heart, which they would if I wanted to be a GP, but I don’t plan to work for the NHS having spent 17 years wworking for them already. I want to work ‘outside the box’. Only I can make it happen, so just have to bite my tongue and pursue my dreams alone.

I’d love to work for NASA, as I said in the title – I doubt it’ll ever happen, but I think I’d be the happiest girl in the world if it ever did :).

i would love to just visit.
i would love to do a clerkship.
i would love to be permanently employed.
anything would be fine, but i would really love to be one of the divers working in the buoyancy control unit, or the medic looking after the astronauts in the space station, or even to do research or public health medicine.
maybe one day…..not sure how to make it happen though.
I don’t want to work there long term, but it was an exciting summer. I did a 10 week research program through my college, and it was a lot of fun. I got to publish a paper, and learn a LOT about the history.
I was a bit frustrated with the bureocratics of the place, you had to fill out 500000 forms to do anything, and they’re implementing a weird new ID program with background checks, but it was still exciting, just to walk around and think about the history, and to realize your work was helping push mankind forward: On mars, on eart, and to the stars.
