Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

Mark OrdonezUntitled

It’s just not practical for me to do this any more. With all of the other things I need to spend money on (e.g. mortgage, insurance, retirement, vacations, etc.), I just don’t have any left over that I wouldn’t rather spend on something else first. 6 years ago

Philip78Depends on the vehicle

Well i think it depends on the vehicle. You’d be wasting your hard earned money if you bought a new vehicle and threw in K&N air filters, strut bars, lowering suspension as a new vehicle is rather raw and hasn’t gotten used to the driver’s driving style or enviornmental conditions, e.g road, climate etc.

BUT is you own lets say a 1992 Honda Civic VT-I which already has been trashed, worn out BRIDE seats, worn out circuit board that does not engage valve train system properly, then by all means mod the vehicle with ZIGEN 5 rims, bodykit, GT wing and stuff.

Most vehicles come with sports accessories that do not actually boost the performance or handling of the vehicle..and if your vehicle is a V8, 5.0 or above i think it’s good enuff. If you want more kick there’s always the air/fuel ratio controller.

The ECU increases fueling when it thinks that more air is flowing thru the engine. These devices allow you to reprogram the air/fuel mixture to match the modifications to the engine. However, it is best to tune it using a dynamometer or the very least, with an Air/Fuel Ratio Meter so that you can adjust the air/fuel mixture correctly. FollowingtheEquatorOk, so I'm a little obsessed!

I started waxing my car and I found those lousy “wet spots”. You know that dried water spots that make the finish of the car look terrible? So I tried a swirl remover, a prewax compound and 56 percent carnuba wax. And they’re still on the car!! I’ve gotta find something to take care of this! 8 years ago

Digitally Personified (heterotically degenerated)Hell yes it changed my life

My interest in cars came about when I changed career I am a mining engineer and decided I wanted to be a computer programmer, so I did. All of a sudden my Ute didn’t look quite right in the car park, one of the guys in the office had an R33 skyline which had been done up after seeing it blow away all the STI’s Porches and an assortment of V8’s I decided to buy one. I’ve been forever trying to squeeze a few extra horses out of it ever since. Worth it hell yes it changed my life 8 years ago

FollowingtheEquatorI've put the car away

Well, thanks to a busy schedule and the price of premium gas, I’ve decided to put my car away for a while and concentrate on other things. I’ve washed it, and will probably spend the weekend detailing it before I put its’ jacket on and move on. 8 years ago
