How I did it: Packed enough stuff in my little salon car and headed out. It was a solo trip and absolutely exciting. Made sure I had enough money for contingencies. My car actually broke down in Nebraska and I had to buy a new one. I searched for friends in each city on a social networking site and crashed with them. Read how I did it…
How I did it: Drove from DC to Denver in 2 days to help my brother move. We loaded up his stuff in a small Nissan pickup and drove 13 hours for 2 days to get there. It would've been nice to take a little more time for sightseeing, but we just couldn't spare the time. Read how I did it…

This has been a dream of mine for many years. I think the soonest I coul possibly do it is summer 2009.
We leave on Tuesday! We’re driving from Georgia to California. Should be interesting.
I have hitched up and down New Zealand before,
But it wasn’t pleasant.
I was wasted most of the time,
So it was fun.
It was uncomfortable, though.
When I get some money I’m going to buy a campervan,
And get the boys together, and maybe a few girls.
I’d love to go all the way to the top and back down to the bottom.
Before returning home and blogging all about it.
I want to take a road trip from coast to coast, writing everything down, taking lots of photos & video. This won’t happen for at least a year, but I know I want to do it for sure someday.
I have done this 100s of times. Route 66 is O.K., but drive U.S. 50 from the Eastern Shore of Maryland to Sacramento, CA. It goes through Maryland, Virgina, West Virgina, Ohio, Indiana & Illinios (boring), then Missouri, Kansas (boring), Colorado, Utah, Nevada (the loneliest rosd in America), & California. This is a great drive, take your time, maybe 2 weeks. Enjoy.
I would love, love, love to do this. I would like to take a motor home across country all the way to Cal. and have time to stop and see the sights. My kids would probably drive me crazy though!! Plus it would cost alot of money, Maybe someday…
Ty is getting ready for bed.
OK, it wasn’t all the way across the country. But far enough. And a rich enough trip. Maybe it’ll be back on my list someday, to do it again/farther.
..There’s no feeling like having an adventure..with nothign in front stopping you..or pulling you back. I am totally taking a road trip From Connecticut all the way to the edge of Cali as soon as I can…I need to experience life without any regrets..and what better way than experiencing something like that.
