I’ve been getting myself into the frame of mind for pilates again these past few days…. now I can’t wait to get back into it!! I needed physiotherapy on my aching back a few years ago that’s what got me into it and i’ve learned more myself after the treatment but now I’ve stopped. I think I need to make a proper regime to make sure it becomes an essential part of my life, I used to spend a whole chunk on time on it but maybe it would be better to practice in smaller sessions, I’m off to dig out all my old notes and make a series of practice sessions! :)

Okay – I finally did it, I got my lazy butt out of bed this morning and dragged it – kicking and screaming – to a flow yoga class, one that I have been telling myself for the past two years that I was going to go to….and I FEEL GREAT!! Flow Yoga is the closest yoga type class to pilates and I was so happy at the end of the class – not only that it was over – but also that I went – my energy level has been thru the roof, even tho I got less sleep than I like and my attitude has been upbeat – WOOHOO!! Plans for tomorrow – walking with Donna – swimming laps and then a Pilates class at night.

Let me start by saying – I LOVE PILATES! – Yoga is cool and all – but I get irritated with all the sitting around – trying to meditate and what not – I am so highly TYPE A that I can’t sit still for any longer than I have to, hell I can’t even run on the treadmill at the gym with out something to read and/or listen too – I get bored – I have to MULTI-TASK, I can’t sit and watch TV without pickup my laptop and messing around on the internet or starting to do laundry, or clean up the room that the TV is in – I can’t just sit still!!! That’s why I love Pilates (and flow yoga) it’s high intensity – it’s fast paced – and it’s an awesome workout that doesn’t get my asthmatic panties in a bunch or sent to the hospital. So, if I love it so much, why did I stop doing it – cuz I moved across town two years ago and instead of being a 5-10 minute drive at the butt crack of dawn, it now requires at least a 30 minute drive in pre dawn conditions, and well frankly, I’m LAZY…there I said it, I’M FREAKIN’ LAZY – so hopefully, one of these days soon, I will get up off my ever expanding rear end and find either a closer Pilates class (Pilates is also a great stress reliever) and/or just bite the dang bullet and drive…mtf

get busy on this, but busy-ness seems to have gotten in the way. We are preparing to move in March, we are helping my parents move by the end of January… very busy. But I’m still dissapointed in myself since I haven’t made any progress on this goal and don’t see how I will in the next few months. But I will keep it up here to remind myself that I still want to do this.

I started doing Pilates when I got engaged to be married. I did them faithfully a minimum of 5 days a week (really committed) and I loved it. I started a new job one week after I got married (6 months ago) and promptly quit exercising. I’m looking for motivation to get started again. My husband and I recently quit smoking, so I’ve gained a few pounds, maybe this will give me the motivation I need.
