How I did it: I went to the grocery store with a friend and we staked out in the parking lot. i brought the 3 year old i babysit with us. there is nothing like a cute little kid to break tension and remind us it's ok to be silly. we had a big sign that said FREE HUGS and we'd just ask people if they'd like one. most said no, but some said yes! one lady even stated "oh i'm so glad you're here, i really needed one of those today". most wanted a hug from my little 3 year old friend. it was such a great feeling to be connected to people like that, through such a simple caring action. Care about other people! it makes all the difference! Lessons & tips: don't be shy, just go DO IT!

How I did it: my friend and i went to trhe mall with sighns that said free hugs. my friend chickened out and sat on the bemch watching me hug random people. before you go out make sure that your sighn is big, legible and easy to see from a distance. Read how I did it…

A friend and I have been thinking seriously about doing this – it sounds so fun and special. :)
My friends and I have done this multiple times and its always really fun to see the peoples reactions. The time at the mall we counted our high and total (4 of us) had 67 hugs. It always is so fun
Im very proud of myself. I have the shirt. I made a sign. Its hard to get free hugs from random people, but its worth it. I think people feel better after they get a random hug. I know i feel better.
This Christmas I’m planing to have a Christmas Party with some friends… Then I realised that it’s the ideal time to go out together and give free hugs to the people of Cologne and/or Bonn. Now I just have to convince my friends ^^
I made a t-shirt for International Free Hugs Day, and the second I walked into school some kid wanted a hug. Various people took me up on it throughout the day, but my favourite hug was walking on Bardstown Road (Louisville’s little faux-cultural centre) and getting a hug outside of a bong shop :)
