I have most of the main tools I need for work. And for leisure too. Don’t think I need anything else, but I’m always up for new softwares and such. I love this new Thinkpad, and the battery currently lasts me around 2 hours plus, which is great compared to the measly 45 minutes on the old one (yeah, granted it was almost 3 yrs old).

While installing the Creative Media Organizer, my Thinkpad went blue screen. I must’ve been dumbstruck for two seconds.. totally unexpected! Had to restart and luckily the second time was okay.
Then I was about to retire nicely and watch Grey’s Anatomy on my notebook, only to realize I haven’t installed the codec driver needed to play the xvid file.. curses! I really should go to sleep already, but I’m too annoyed now!

my brand new Thinkpad, an IBM/Lenovo notebook. Runs on WinXP Pro, has the latest Intel Core Duo, 1.5 GB RAM with 80GB of hard disk. Nothing too serious, but I’m sure it’ll get the job done.
I started setting it up and so far I’ve put in:
- Wireless config (office & home)
- Mozilla Firefox (I can’t live without this foxy baby!)
- Lotus Notes (client, designer & admin.. the whole works)
- MS Office (still can’t replace this one!)
- Lotus Smartsuite (don’t knock it, I love 123 more than Excel!)
- Adobe Reader
- Cisco VPN Client
- Trend Micro OfficeScan (courtesy of the office)
- JustZipIt (my choice of alternative to Winzip)
- PDF995 – just PDF it baby!
- Creative WinXP driver for Zen Micro
- Nero Burner
- Last.Fm Audioscrobbler plugin
- WINRAR
- Power Toys for WinXP (mainly the image resizer tool)
- ZapNotes
- Trillian/Yahoo! Messenger (maybe both tho Meebo kinda does the job for chat, but I need YM for voice chats)
I may need a few others, though that’s all I can think of for now. If anyone has any suggestions on what I should/could use, feel free…! ;)
