I have organized, destroyed and reorganized my craft room multiuple times over the 25 years I have resided in my home. Currently, I have spilled over into the adjoining bedroom and hallway and now NOTHING is accessible or useable!!!! My current remodel project is stalled by a lack of affordable flooring and shelving to accomodate the variety of projects and supplies I USED to enjoy. I have attempted to reduce the items, however, I guess I have an issue with throwing away perfectly good supplies. Any ideas ?

...but that mess is my gripe.
That was a horrible attempt at a Beastie Boys allusion. Forgive me.
Yes, my craft room is a mess. Who’s isn’t?

i need to put up shelves and fill all of the storage containers i’ve bought. i can’t really afford to buy any more supplies for a while so now is a great time for me to start getting organized

Get all of my stamping and paper crafting supplies organized where I can find them easily. Clear off my work space so I can actually use my supplies when I want to make something. Make a spreadsheet with a list of all my rubber stamps so I don’t buy duplicates.

Now that I have a room, I must collect all of my materials from every nook and cranny throughout my house! I am struggling to remember all of those organizational tips from Carol Duvall’s Show. Do I need plastic bin’s?? I’d love to display my wood-mounted rubber stamps on my walls. What should I use for skinny little shelves? What kind of Ott-lite would be best in my room? Ooohh, my head is spinning, but it is a good spin! :)
Just saw the writing, I adoopted this goal 2 months ago and have done NOTHING!
I could at least stay “It hasn’t gotten worse”, but it couldn’t, nothing else will fit in there. No one has even gone in that room for months.
Part of the problem is finding time. It’s hard enough to keep up with constant messes my family makes in the active parts of the the house. Which I think I will turn into my motivation. If I get this room organized, it will be mine. My first room ever for me alone. It will be a place where I shut the door and no one else is allowed in. And that means that I will have one place that no one else can mess up! Once it’s clean, it will stay clean (because I’m pretty tidy myself).
And I might entice some motivation with the idea of painting the whole room a happy purple.
When we first moved into this house I staked out my territory. I’d never in my life had my own room and so I decided I am going to have a sewing and craft room. I was an avid sewer and knitter before my kids came along. I set up the craft room and then never used it. It was too far from the action when the kids were too young.
The craft room has become the junk room, I can’t even walk in their anymore. The kids are older now and I’d like to sew some dresses for my daughter, so it’s about bloody time I got this room back into shape.
this is actually progressing nicely _ stuck yet another shelving unit in here – was surprised to discover just how much floor space i have!
