paint the hallway

Another room of my home complete!!!

The stairway going to the basement needs to be painted, as does the main hallway upstairs. I’ve got the paint, I just need to make the time.

We’re selling the apartment, and we finally painted the hallway. It’s white now. Very white.

It’s a soothing blue-gray on top and white on bottom. Darn it was a trick not tumbling down the stairs as I stood on a stool on the steps to reach top of the wall!

I also painted the steps (from icky melon pink- why would a human do that??) to a red brown color with a glaze of brown on top. Would not recommend glaze without poly on top, it’s scratching off!

Did this today, still have the second coat to do but will get that done today. It was a disgusting 70’s blue and now it’s a creamy brown. It feels warmer. Didn’t bother with the trim, we’re going to replace those with bigger top and button and we’re stripping and sanding back the door frames so we can varnish them as there is a nice wood underneath all that white paint.

Then redecorate.

Once we finished our living room and realized how incredibly awesome it looked, it became blatantly obvious how incredibly unawesome our connected hallway looked. We need some major painting and trim work done there. It’s the first impression visitors get in our house and it needs to make a nice, comforting statement.

I have about 1/3 of it done. I think I started it in November.

well. Really has brightened up the hallway. Can’t wait to see it on a sunny day—as it is dark and dreary here right now.
