learn CPR and First Aid

Everyone could save a life, but how bad would I feel if there was an emergency and I didn’t know what to do. I’ve taken a course before but forget just about everything.

I took the CPR for adults and infants. Hope I never have to use it, but if so, I’m ready.

On saturday the 28th of June I had a quiet night with friends and just as the night was about to finish I heard what I thought was a door slam shut… Wrong.
It was the sound of a middle age woman caving her skull into the sidewalk, her friends were a little drunk so only asked if she was alright, i was actually the first qualified person on scene, I looked after her and made sure she was safe and not likely to choke or suffocate, then handed over to the paramedics when they arrived.

It is one of the most satisfying things to know that without any assitance that womans ordeal could of been made so much worse i was so proud to be in the right place at the right time.

Well unfortunately due to budget constraints (and possibly the fact i am leaving in a couple of months) work cancelled my first aid training – sooooooo not fair!

ok we couldn’t get in on the 8th of may so we have booked for the 26th and 27th.

have organised to attend a Senior First Aid course on the 8th and 9th of may. This is great because work pays for it, and i get time off work to attend :)

We have no first aid officers on our floor at work at the moment so i am going to volunteer to do this and therefore go for first aid training

go to red cross, sign up, show up. Your done

So I work at the American Red Cross where we teach CPR and first aid and I have not taken a class yet. I think I get these classes free too – that is the horrible part. I need to do this before I switch jobs.

Ok, just signed up for a class, on June 16th. I’ll have the robots send a reminder…
