I have over 3,000 in the good ol’ savings bank, but some of that is grad money, and scholarship money. So I don’t really count that as money I’ve earned.

Approximately $1,271 of that is what I’ve earned from paychecks at my old job and babysitting.

But I have a new job and I’m expecting a $100 paycheck. That’ll go straight into savings because I need to save for my trip this summer!

But for my next paycheck, I might split it between savings and checking because I also don’t want my mom paying for everything while I’m in college.

Well I did do this, in fact I saved $3500. But then I bought a car so of course I am back to square one. So far I have got $170.
I would love to have $2000 by the time I go to New Zealand.

Financial aid checks arrived today. 1 month ago

Rent is due tomorrow, and our car is still not running, but I estimate we will reach this goal shortly. Now, if we can maintain it, I will click “done” and go on to the $4000 goal.
...or I may get my license, a passport, and the SLR I’ve been dreaming of for over a year. Yeah, that sounds better!

Now that we both have jobs, we are finally making more than we spend. Our expenses average $1300 a month, and our new income averages $2100. This is a miracle, considering that only a few months ago we were going without food and using rain water to flush the toilet just to get by. I still haven’t adjusted to the fact that we can afford anything more substantial than ramen!

This is certainly not starting off well. We just had to scrape together every penny we had to buy new tires and pay rent. And to top it off, now our only car is breaking down. I don’t know what we’ll do!

Ideally, I would like to have this much in my savings, apart from mine and my husband’s shared accounts. Then, come May, I can take my first tramping or biking expedition! Or, if circumstance will not allow that, I can keep saving for Ecuador. <3

:D getting there! 2 months ago

I have $2,010 in my bank account but I know I’m going to spend some of that very soon so I think in a couple more weeks I should have the money to put aside.

want to save :) 2 months ago

I have just started a fulltime job and would love to save up $2000. It’s really important to me to have the security of having money in the bank for my future. I am so close, at 1400, just takes some willpower and no careless spending to get there, I think in a couple more paychecks I’ll have $2k to put aside =)
