How I did it: I went to a concert at a bar with a friend and after seeing the headlining band play, decided that they were so good i had to tell them how much i enjoyed the show (i was drunk). I was able to catch one of them long enough to ask what they were drinking and after finding this out, blew about $50 on 6 jack and cokes for the band, plus a drink for me and my friend. We hauled it all downstairs where i proceeded to hand each one a drink and tell them they blew me away. When i got to the drummer and handed him his drink, we started chatting. Chatting lead to an after-party with the band, which led to sitting up in his hotel room talking till they had to leave the next morning at 9. We switched e-mails and then started chatting like everyday on the phone.

(6 months later we ended it because of the long-distance)

    it sounds good in theory but the reality is far different 2 years ago

    after being romantically linked with an a list celebrity, i can honestly say, it wasn’t worth it. reading your name on yahoo news, fansites, and blogs is fun. having people doing research on you to dig up dirt, people talking behind your back on blogs, and having no one who can relate to your dilemma is not.

    it also didn’t help that i was only 21 at the time (2005), and not really keen on how to deal with the sudden attention. i might be open to it in the future, but only after my career reaches the same level as the person i’m dating.
