we just hit 10,000 miles. Thumper went for his checkup and is well. The crazy thing about vw’s (or at least the new ones) is that the oil is only changed every 5000 miles or after 10000 every 10000 miles according to the owners manual and the dealer. i asked the mechanic, who owns a vw, how often he does his changes. He does it every 5, even tho apparently the car can go every 10. I think i will do that to. It has been 7 months and i still love my car.

I am a heavy driver, I put on about 60 miles a day every day and like to travel so I have owned this car for 2 months and have driven 3324 miles. Time for the first oil change. The vw book says 5000 miles, but i am going in sooner. My dealer does not give me the free 12000 miles like the manufacturer warrantee says it should so I would never shop there again (if you are looking for VW’s in jersey I will let you know where not to go!) I am taking it to another dealer in the area instead
I hope thumper turns out ok!
While washing my baby (again) I found the first ding! DAMN. It looks like a shopping cart hit it. It is small, but just one of thoes things you notice. Oh well, it had to happen sooner or later.
I bought this car (2007 rabbit 2.5) recently when my Mitsu died. I really love it and want to keep it in good condition. The great thing about vw’s is that apparently they can last forever if you really take care of them. I want to use my busted mitsu as a learning lab and hopefully fix it, sell it, and use the money to pay off some of the bunny. I havent recieved the first ding yet… hope it is a long time coming.. does anyone else with a new car park far away and walk just to aviod dings? I might be a little obsessive!
