have my own business

Right now my business is a mess. It’s going… but barely. And its my fault. Neglecting business FTL :(. Sometimes I just don’t feel like doing it though. Sucks, because its my money I’m losing. However, tonight is a good night so far. I am learning alot about myself through this business… how I operate and all. I still got hours upon hours of work, but I am making progress I suppose :). Atleast I’m moving as opposed to before.

I started my own business a year ago. It has been a crazy ride… a lot of ups and downs. The one piece of advice I would give to anybody looking to do the same is to do your homework… know what you’re getting yourself into and know EXACTLY how the business is going to run. Every single detail, especially the little ones, are extremely important. If you don’t have the patience for this, make sure you have alot of money to throw at the problem. Pretty much take your budget, and double it (if not triple it) ... thats what its going to take. That, and a unparallel amount of hard work, time, and dedication. Just remember, nothing good comes easy. It’s the truth.

It’s strange how things just somehow tends to bind together always.

I lost my job few months ago, thanks to financial crisis, but it opened new chances for me. I was able to focus on finishing my studies and face a chance of starting my own business. I met a great opportunity to be part of an interesting project which may launch a new company to further develop the service.

Lost can be a chance also!

How ever this is not done yet since we are still investigating the possibility of starting an own company.

i just got married and got pregnant…i need to quit my career (i was a flight attendant) cause my job doesnt permits me to go on flying when i get pregnant within the first five years in the company. so right now, im thinking of starting a productive hobby which could help me start a future business within my interest. im really trying to question my self where im good at and how to be able to enrich it.

I’ve always wanted my own business. I would feel much more like i’ve acheived something having my own business than i would just nailing down a job. I’d love to be my own boss, and when i earn money it would feel like i’ve really earned it, it’s my effort. I’ve always had creative business ideas, even when i was a kid i was always finding new ingenious ways of making a profit.

I started my onw website(two friends of mine are helping with that). I can’t say is a business, but i hope i can get some experience with it. I take pictures of some events here in my contry and put it in this site. I want to make money with that, so i but some google adds at it. but i want to find direct contacts to put there adds in the website.
Yeasterday we were asked to go to a event of the best book seller company of my country!

My brother and I have talked about starting our own machinery moving company for a few years and are slowly saving up to get the equipment we need to get started

I have started to journal consistently for a few days now each morning after breakfast. Today wrote about a “future/glimpse” of what I invision for my product, Velamia Skincare. I wrote about how my morning would be, the setting of my home to be, the orders, the appointments set and my feelings of how this would feel. I find this process promotes my desire to succeed if I can visualize my dreams. Working alone on this project for the past 2 years can get lonely sometimes. I am getting invovled in some meet-up groups of women enterprenurs who are feeling teh same things that I do. Strange thing is I someties feel fearful. Fear of success???? Hmmmmm….

My goal to have my own cosmetic product and own my own business started 2 years ago, well, actually 30 years ago. But I started thinking to myself, after being frustrated about the products on the market, “I can make my own product!!!!!!”. Little did I know how intensive this would be. After playing around with products in my kitchen, and experimenting with textures, ideas, formulas, I came up with a great product in a year.

But this process has taken paths that I never imagined to take a product from a mere idea to actually getting ready to launch it. Besides I have very limited income to spare, so this why I had to go so slow. WHEW! what a process, but I have not stopped the dream. I will get this product on the market this year. I need to streamline my goal list better.

After formulating, finding the right size bottles took me a long time. I had to call an dget samples from many, many companies. they would ask me questions: Is your product for a jar? a pump bottle?, a flip disk bottle?, you want clear?, opaque?, 4 ounces? 6 ounces? Squeeze bottle? hard bottle? etc…. 90 bottle samples later, I have the perfect jar & bottle.

Then came making labels and a design logo, this is whole other story that took a year. I never wanted to give the project away to somebody else to. This is my baby!!! I dreamed it, I formulated it! And darn it, I was going to see every bit of the process through.

I had to find a way to keep the items together, searching bag companies was fun.

Creating a website was a real trick, so I needed professional advice. And I soooooooo glad I did find help. After pulling out my hair, crying at the computer until late, late into the night morning hours, for 6 months I looked for help and found a great adviser.

But now….....!!!!!!!! I’M READY TO LAUNCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DRUM ROLL…........VELAMIA SKINCARE HAS ARRIVED!!!!! Now, every woman can be the goddess of soft, smooth heels!!! No more dry, snaggy heels that catch on hoisery, scratch the sheets, look terrible in sandals, and flip flops.

My next goal is to get involved with online networking sites, go to hotels, rsorts, spas and give samples. So far, everybody who has tried it has loved it!!!

I had one sale today!!! Woo Hoo. It’s amazing how one small accomplishment can affect your spirits your sense of hope, etc. Still not making enough for a living but I am moving up in search engines and My Amber Shop is getting more hits! Yeay!
