Join a church

As my family and I are on a mission to put down some roots in our community, this is high on our list. The hard part is giving up lazy Sunday mornings to get everyone to the service – dressed, clean, fed, awake. I guess this one is spirit over matter. An action plan will be forthcoming.

This is one of the goals my partner and I set together and luckily we have found the faith community we want to be apart of. In many ways it feels as if we already belong to this community, though if all goes according to plan our membership will be formalized in February.

JOIN A CHURCH

We are members of the church now!! We went to a dinner with the pastor and all the ministers the other night. It was really scary for me but I got through it and I’m glad that I went. :D I was baptised when I was a baby but I just need to be baptised by being dunked now since I was baptised before I was saved. Of course I’m nervous about that because you do it in front of the whole church…but I’m excited about it too. :)

Well, we tried that new 11am service but we didn’t like it too much. We did start going to that church though at the 9:15 service and I LOVE it. The pastor there is absolutely wonderful. We have been going pretty regularly and I think we will become members soon.

I liked it, but it was a little different than what I’m used to. I may go again, though. I’m looking for some community, and I don’t know if I ‘felt it’ there. Gonna keep checking out different locations until one clicks.

we never actually went to that service. But, my friend and her husband invited us to their church and we might start going with them to see how we like it!

We stopped going to “our” church about a year ago. I had no idea that a year later, we’d still be without a church. We rarely go to church at all anymore. And when we do visit a new church, my husband and I usually don’t agree about it. Anyway, my New Year’s resolution was to find a church and since it’s already June, I’m making a commitment. My son and I have been going to VBS at Sycamore Baptist and I have really enjoyed it. Now I have to convince my husband…

The new service doesn’t start until Easter.

The church my husband works for is starting a new contemporary service at 11am. I don’t really like the church he works for because it is absolutely huge and so it’s not personal and everyone has little cliques there and I don’t like that situation. I do think that we will go to this new service though and see what it’s like.
