Ever since I watched the movie “Amazing Grace” I have been really looking into slavery and because of reading books and checking out websites I have decided to ask god how he feels about me becoming a modern teen abolitionist. Just knowing that men, women, and children are being sold into slavery still just tears me to pieces. Maybe this is my calling and what god wants me to do.

Ending Modern day Slavery is what every Christian in the world would want to pray for direction from God in how each of us should learn to do what we ought to do to stop such evil and to prevent it from going futher. And,to give direction to the many brave souls who are trying to stop it. Also, that God might put a hedge of protection around those who are enslaved, and, to enlighten those who might be vulnerable so that they might be saved from such horrible practices. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen

I read Diposable People, by Kevin Bales. That was my introduction to modern day slavery. Is this how most of you learned about this issue too?

If not,how did you learn of it? I would definatley recommend “Disposable People” as a way to introduce friends to the topic. Bales is the leading scholar on modern slavery. His writing is very informative and acsessible.
