Larix starting small - one thing at the time

    Reassessment 1 week ago

Well, I haven’t succeeded at this, did it for 4 days and then… The most challenging are… surprise, surprise… days off. When I’m somehow most unconscious. Or maybe there are no such established routines for most of the time like it is in working days. But another thing is that it also could be too much. Well, I’m going to start again. This time I will divide this goal into smaller, more manageable goals: 1 month of Before Bed Routine, 1 month of Morning Routine, and 1 of After Work/ Afternoon Routine.
    Starting today: 17 November – 17 December.
And I will try and focus more on solving my days off confusion. Well, maybe I should make it another goal?

    Day 3 2 weeks ago

Went ok, although I had to remind myself that I’m going through the 30 days trial, I’m so busy that it becomes easy to forgot, I hope I will form a habit soon that I will not have to remind myself again and again. But for now that’s ok, I’m forming the habit, that’s my job now to remind myself and I’m ok not remembering it at times.

    1 day - done! 2 weeks ago

My first day was kind of easy – it’s my day off so I could take my time and focus on the tasks, although I sometimes feel that too much time could lead to carelessness and side-tracking, which didn’t happened today, but I think I could have done it quicker. But then again, it’s my first day and I think it could be advantages to take my time and do it well. Anyway, I’m glad the first day is over.

30 Days Trial 3 weeks ago

I’m giving it another go. Decided to cut everything that is not essential. I’m going to write about my progress here. Starting 8 of November, on Sunday morning with my Morning Routines

Today I’m starting my 30 day of forming habits: do all 3 Flylady Routines: Morning Routine, After Work Routine and Before Bed Routine. I’m very excited.

for a while I was very overwhelmed by all the emails. Eventually I went back to yahoo and changed my subscription to send me a daily digest instead of each message in its own email. This has helped tremendously! Now I only get one FlyLady email a day, not ten or twenty or more!

I’ve been fluttering since June 27th, 2008. By last fall, my house looked great. Then we moved. I have been SLOWLY making it my own again. My most important tool has been my timer. Nearly everything I’ve accomplished has been in 15 minute increments.

About the fly tools… you can find most of these things without having to order them online (they are called different things of course). Pet smart carries a rubba scrubba for around $5 and a rubba sweepa for around $17. Costco carries a set of three large blue microfiber rags and a terrycloth washing mitt for $10 (they all look just like FlyLady’s royal rags and washing mitt). And of course you can get a standard timer for about $3 at the grocery store, though I am intrigued by the one that vibrates so you aren’t constantly bothering those around you. One thing I am interested in is the double-walled and double mouth stainless steel water bottle- I’ve yet to find anything like this out there yet.

    Big challenge 10 months ago

I’m really working on this one, but boy is it hard! I’ve made it my big challenge, and I’m glad, cause I’m really thinking about it, and focusing.

I realize to do this, I have to prioritize more, and do the unpleasant thing first—another goal I have here.

I really so want this, cause I know when I do it, I am so happy, but when I don’t, and give in the the voice that says play, I am happy short-term but very unhappy in the long run. That enough will eventually keep me on the right track here.

Next big challenge 10 months ago

This is going to be my next big challenge after I finish the ‘don’t blurt anything out’ one. I’m almost done with that one, so this will be soon. I’ll give myself six weeks to do it.

Because I do some things, but I really do want to do it all, and if I make it Front and Center, I will. Part of me craves routines, and part always wants to play. I know I will feel so good if I do this, and there are other parts that naturally come from it, such as meal planning and financial soundness.
