Dancing on Ice LIVE was AMAZING!! 2 years ago

As you will all know I am a massive fan of the TV show DANCING ON ICE so when tickets for a live tour went on sale I had to buy some for the Manchester show on the 13th April.

I was very excited about going and it was amazing to be finally on my way down to Manchester on the evening of the 13th April, we were running behind time because my dad was wasting time by taking 30 minutes to change his clothes. He always makes me late so I tell him we need to leave earlier than we actually do so there is more of a chance of us leaving on time and getting there when I want to get there.

Getting there about 45 minutes before the show was due to start wasn’t my plan at all but that is what happened. We then spent ages queuing up to get a drink but then again there was over ten thousand people there so we were bound to get stuck in a queue.

We went in to find our seats about 10 minutes before the show started and there was a warm up guy working the crowd by talking to them and telling them to boo when Jason Gardener the judge came on and he even had us practising booing which was funny. He was then playing bits of songs and we had to sing and dance along to them and he was having on half of the arena compete against the other half and our half won which was good.

Then the show started and we went crazy!! It was amazing and was just set up like the show so it was a competition between the celebs and their partners with the judges scoring everyone and then giving comments. Chris and Jayne (Torvill and Dean) opened the show by performing an amazing routine to “It’s a kind of Magic” by Queen. Then the competition started and it was amazing, actually Stefan fell twice during his routine, one of the times he fell he fell on his partner and she hurt her wrist but the crowd helped them get back up and carry on with encouragement. It was such a shame to see him fall because I was really enjoying his routine to that point and I felt so bad that he fell because of how well he was doing.

The most amazing performance was by Kyran and Melanie. I was a fan of that couple all the way through the show and loved to see how much Kyran improved week by week so I was excited to see Kyran do my favourite routine from the show, Billy Jean, and true to form it was amazing and the crowd went crazy for how amazing it was and I wanted him to perform it again straight away.

Then to close the first half of the show Torvill and Dean performed and then we were given a text number to text in and vote for our favourite couple who will go head to head near the end of the show to be crowed that shows winner.

There was a 20 minute break for us to nip to the bathroom and also get another drink. The queues were so massive and I was about 10 minutes in the bathroom and I came out to find my dad and then went and queued up foe a drink with him and we were in the queue for ten minutes when the warm up guy came back on inside the arena and I was hoping the get the drinks and back to the seats before the second half started but we didn’t. We actually just got inside when my favourite group performance started, These Boots are Made for Walking, but we’d gone in the wrong door and didn’t realise until we had gone all the way down the stairs and then I was in a mad panic and wasn’t pleased about missing that performance. We then had to rush all the way back up the stairs and go and find the right door and go back down the stairs and sit just as that performance ended.

Then the couples came out again and did another routine each and then the professionals paired up and did some amazing performances, the best were Melanie and Fred who did a fast and dangerous routine to “can can” from Moulin Rouge. He kept throwing her over his shoulder head first and she would almost hit her head on the floor as he caught her between his legs. Every time they did that the audience gasped because it was a very dangerous move. Another routine I loved was Dans routines to “Angels” by Robbie Williams. He did Ice dancing and also this aerial act on these sheet things and it was so wonderful to watch as I’d never seen anything on ice like that before.

There was also a Russian duo who aren’t normally part of the show who came on and did a thing in these massive hamster wheel things and it started off slow and I didn’t think much of it but then it got really interesting and I enjoyed watching them.

Torvill and Dean did a couple of routines too and I love watching them so it was great to see their routines, I did wish they were on the ice for longer though. It would of been amazing if they did more routines or longer ones but I guess they couldn’t in that show.

After all that the judges and the host came back on along with the celebs and then we found out who were the final two. Bonnie and Matt and Kyran and Melanie were in the final and I’d voted for Kyran and Melanie so I was very pleased that they had gotten through. Bonnie went first and her routine was good but Kyran’s blew me away. It was then up to the judges who won and it was 2 each and Jason was the last judge to vote and I was conviced he would vote for Bonnie so I was shocked and very happy when he picked Kyran!! It’s funny because every time a judge picked Bonnie all of the audience booed because we wanted Kyran to win so badly.

One more group routine before they split in half and went to each side of the arena and shook hands, kissed and hugged the lucky ones on the first row. Then final bowes and they all went off leaving Chris and Jayne to their final bows (look at picture) and then it was show over.

Was worth every penny of the £94 tickets, I loved it but wasn’t happy about missing my favourite group routine but these things happen. I would of loved to have been in the front row too but I was 7th row up which was amazing because I’m normally in the 50th row and can’t see a thing.

I wanted to go again too and almost bought front row tickets to see the show on Sunday but I didn’t have the time to go and my dad didn’t want to go again. I hope they tour again next year because if they do I will go and see it at least three times but it was one of the most amazing things that i have ever seen!!

Tomorrow :o) 2 years ago

It’s tomorrow, it came round so fast and now I can’t wait.

I have a busy day before I can even think about getting ready to do.
I have 5 hours of course work, house work and some paper work (sorting it) to do before I can get ready and I need to start getting ready about 3pm too so it’s going to be a hectic day tomorrow that’s for sure!!

I will post details about it tomorrow when I get home, or maybe the day after as it will be late when I get back!!

Just found out I can take my camera which i am pleased about but we can’t use flash which isn’t good as I don’t know how my pictures will turn out without flash. I am only use to using it with the flash on so I need to now go and see what the other settings are like so I can hopefully take some good pictures!!

Three weeks tomorrow 2 years ago

then I shall be there watching it Live. I can’t wait but to tide me over between now and then there is Saturday nights show which is a comtest between this years top three and last years top three. Well I know who I want to win and it’s the person who won this years show last weekend – he is so amazing and much better than the others. It’s up to the judges score whether or not he gets to the final so I will have to keep my fingers crossed and hope he does an amazing routine like he normally does.

I can't wait 2 years ago

I didn’t realise how soon this was, normally you get tickets for gigs months in advance and have to wait for it to happen but this is one month on Friday. It’s rather exciting and I can’t wait. I will be busy up till then anyway so I won’t have the chance to get sick of waiting.
It should be a great night and of course the TV show doesn’t finish for another couple of weeks so I can still watch that at weekends too and also I just bought the DVD and CD from the last series too. Plus the new DVD from this series is out the first Monday in April so with some luck I will be able to afford that too.

I have tickets :o) 2 years ago

I finally bought some tickets on ticketmaster last night :o)
I have been wanting to get some for ages now and last night after watching the TV show I just went online and bought myself two tickets. The seats aren’t too bad either although if I would of got them a few weeks ago I would of got a better place but where I am now isn’t too bad.
I will be seeing it at the M.E.N. in Manchester and it is so exciting, I can’t wait. I just hope I get to see everything where I am sat, I am in the lower block about half way up which I think is a good place to sit as long as you get the see everything. The only thing I don’t like about where I am sitting is it’s the tiny corner block but that doesn’t really matter to me.

I will be seeing them on 13th April.
