I want to bring my son to see a shuttle launch before the program ends. I will have to make a special trip to FL just to see it. If it gets scrubbed, we’ll go to Disneyworld instead and go to Space Mountain.

How I did it: I was born and raised in Cocoa Beach (the town next to Cape Canaveral). I can't remember my first shuttle, or a time in my life where a shuttle launch even seemed like sometime to notice. Though, as a local I feel I have great advice as to how to best accomplish and enjoy your goal of watching a shuttle launch! Read how I did it…
How I did it: go to capecanaveral.com. plan on having lunch with the astronauts before the launch. well worth it.spend the day there. they have rides and museums at the kennedy space center Read how I did it…

I hope to do this. I don’t live too far from Kennedy Space Center, and have been interested in space pretty much all my life. I think the kids will like it, we will see when the next one is.
I hope to visit Cape Cannaveral one day, and see a launch. Its challenging to plan these vacations, because they are often delayed, and they are rarely planned when I have free time, but that is something I would love to do.
i was talking with a co-worker who used to live next to kennedy space center and his apartment would shake when it took off.. he said it was amazing.
i would LOVE to see this in my lifetime :)
Yep, I’ve seen a space shuttle launch, my dad works for NASA, so one time when he went to florida for a launch, I went with him…its pretty much just loud and smokey…but they always launch at awkward times, so you have to wake up waaay early to go there, and then you wait for a long time, and then its over…my over all judgement is not worth it..but I am not a science or space geek.
I was there this past July 2nd when it was called off…and stayed again to the next day to try one more time, again when it was called off for weather. This time I’ve discovered I may have a few insiders to get me closer than Titusville and Cocoa Beach without having to pay.
Its really neat watching it go up. i used to care a lot more about watching it, but considering they do it like 2x a month it grew old. but it is definitely worthwhile to see, like a shooting star in the middle of the day basically
i live kinda near there so i watch the countdown on tv then walk outside and watch it till it disappears
