wander around nyc and talk about our dreams

I miss doing this.

It’s one of the fondest memories of my life.

i took a trip to NYC with my boyfriend to visit a couple of friends we have up there…we went up to the roof of one of my friend’s apartments and looked up at the sky, stars almost totally invisible, drowned out by the light of the city

as we were talking about philosophy and potentially appropriate ways to live, we looked across at the next building which had wide windows that were mostly closed by curtains…but one wasn’t

in the window we saw a girl with a tank top and white underwear dancing on her tabletop, dancing in front of the TV, dancing while she was talking on her cell phone, dancing on her couch…she was totally alone and just rocking out

our jaws dropped

i think she knew we were watching her because she jumped up on the windowsill, looked in our direction and deliberately shook her booty

we spent the rest of the evening spellbound, held by our memories of that gorgeous girl, and by the frantic pulse of the city…when the sun came up, our eyes were still sparkling

walking and talking is one of the best way to have great conversations. nyc happens to be convenient because it never sleeps.
