We got one yesterday. A 24 inch i-mac 2.6 ghz. I’m really happy to have it. We went to the Apple Store and spent about an hour with a “personal shopper” who showed us all the in’s and out’s and how interconnected everything is. I’m really looking forward to learning more about using it. I think the large monitor will really help at getting my photography edited properly, as well.

and the money scared me right back out of the store. I was 100% sure I was walking away w/ a shiny new Mac today but w/ my other, frankly more important, goals of buying a house and going to Japan looming over my bank account – I ran. I am getting a large tax return and my husband is still a student so there is a discount if I take him w/ me…I think I’ll try again Thursday.

I’ve bought a MacBook just after the publication of Leopard and I have to say it has been one of my best buys ever. Yes, Mac computers are more expensive than others, but they are even better. Mac Os X, particularly, is a great os, without the macroscopic bugs of Windows and more eye-catching; now that I’ve got a Mac and a Pc on the same desk, I always turn on the Mac and the rare times I have to turn on the pc (‘cause the printer is there) I’m always bored
