How I did it: Easy - I just made up my mind and did it. I do like those Plackers pre-strung floss things. They're strong and I don't have to cut off the circulation in my fingertips to floss. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I have retainers, so it's been tough to get motivated to floss, as my gums would bleed every time. I stuck with it, tried to be gentle, and a week or so later, my gums don't bleed! Now there's no reason not to floss, and I consider it a way respect my body and also to protect the investment of braces on my teeth. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I always flossed sometimes, but not every night. It was easier for me to get into a morning flossing habit because without fail, brushing my teeth is one of the first things I do in the morning. But that's not as good for the teeth, obviously. My wake-up call was an impromptu dentist appointment after I'd been particularly forgetful. It wasn't pain--dentist after not flossing hurts less than dentist after flossing only two days in a row, f… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I bought that plastic flosser from Reach. Basically you clip a mini-bow shaped floss head to the top of the flosser, and it makes the whole thing more enjoyable. Read how I did it…

How I did it: It only took about two weeks to make this habit. I do it right after I brush my teeth before I go to bed. Now it is difficult to go to bed without flossing Read how I did it…

They say that it takes about 21 days to make something a habit. Flossing has always been an annoyance for me. Using a string to go in each space between your teeth. argh
I’ve been in the habit for the past few weeks now. It’s pretty much brush, floss, mouthwash. When I brush, I automatically do the rest. Some people use sticky notes on their bathroom mirror. Some people use phone alarms. Whatever works for you. :P
A product that has really helped are those floss sticks where you buy like 50-100 in a package. This makes it SO MUCH EASIER to floss. It also makes it really easy to get the spaces next to your wisdom teeth.
Still not comfortable enough to consider this done, but I’m almost there.

It’s been hard to keep this one going. I’ve been pretty good, but not every day. I’m so tired a lot of times and forget at night. I’m starting to do it in the morning and again at night if I forget in the evening.
So, I have finally started up again…today. This isn’t a hard thing to do, and once you get in the habit of it, its nothing. But if you fall out of the habit like I did…
I don’t even know what caused me to stop…laziness, or just being too tired by the end of the day. But if I can brush my teeth regularly, there is no reason why I can’t floss regularly, too.

Okay, well, I lost the floss on the 6th, so this really started yesterday, Sept. 7th. If I do not floss my teeth one day, I can’t drink soda for a week, which isn’t /that/ much of a challenge.

Starting today, 9/6/09, I will floss my teeth daily until my next dentist appointment, which I guess is in the near future.
I remember a period of time where I was doing pretty well with this goal. Sadly, I fell out of practice…I really need to get started on this goal again!
Kendie98 is stressed, but has been worse. :)
I’ve been doing really, really good. I only missed a day or maybe two but for me, this is really good. I am getting really worried about my teeth because my mouth is so dry it’s hard to not get cavities. So I am really happy.
