Today went to scope out a hidey hole for my geo cache. The container I had was to big to fit the spot but I got the gps fix. I also printed out the welcome note and I made a log book to place in the cache.

What I want to do next….

Get a container that fits or a larger container to put in a different location.

I found my first GeoCache today! \o/

I really loved geocaching because it combines my love of the outdoors, tech, and the thrill of surprise. I’m really eager to place my own cache. I have some interesting theme ideas. Hopefully I can place one at the weekend or maybe even before.

The first location I was thinking of needs more research into the ownership of the area, so put my second cache (GC1F476) out first. Goals are to make one easy to find and maintain by the geocachelets, whom I hope see this as an opportunity to kick in some of their toys.

Need to get back into this 16 months ago

I was active in geocaching for awhile when I lived in California several years ago. I placed a cache in Tilden Regional Park that combined geocaching and my love of bookcrossing. I wonder if it’s still there.

I need to dig up my GPS unit and find some more caches here in New Jersey.

I’ve wanted to place a geocache ever since I first heard about Geocaching a few months ago.

I finally placed one in a park that I used to visit all the time when I was a little girl.

    It’s GC18TRF at N 42° 05.578 W 076° 49.281.

This is definitely worth doing, as it’s a lot of fun watching your page to see who finds the cache. I’ve already got some more ideas for some even better caches in the future! :)

Done. I waited and didn’t just place a lame lpc or something. I’m proud of myself.

well, first I have to design one (another of my Things to do). I’m so afraid of it being lame and boring. I’m trying to think of something original/good camo/interesting place, so far, nothing.
