Went to the Islands, kicked everyones butt, I thinkk that the Aussies threw the one dayers against england to give them false hope!

Way to go guys! Fav moment – when they got in to the Airport and were like YAH we rocked it it wasn’t that hard!

Coming into the seriew it looked like ths Australians had lost their way a little – losing to England in the domestic one day series final and then having not much fun in Nu Zealund.

To their credit they came through the series unbeaten. Highlights – McGrath’s bowling and Hayden’s batting – both needed to perform well and they did. Special moment – Gilchrist’s last innings.

I only saw the start of his innings but what an innings it must have been! And good on Glenn McGrath for finishing his career in such fine fashion.

I imagine the boys are going to thoroughly enjoy the celebrations over the next couple of days…

Thankfully all the lead-up matches, which seemed to go on for an eternity, are over! Australia deserve to win but Sri Lanka are no slouch of a team. It’s only one day after all. Then again, if the Aussies are anywhere near their best it’s hard to see anyone stopping them at the moment.

Australia has beaten the kiwis in the biggest victory margin in a World Cup match between two Test nations, surpassing England’s 202-run win over India at Lord’s in 1975.

New Zealand will face Sri Lanka in Tuesday’s first semi-final in Jamaica, with Australia takes on South Africa in St Lucia on Wednesday.

Or is the aussie media showing no interest whatsoever in the world cup? Are they saving their strength for the finals? With the empty stadiums and underdogs doing well, I thought there would be lots for the journos to write about. Instead they carp on about Symonds’ injury and Paki bookies.

I know footy season has started, but c’mon a little interest please!

The Aussies haven’t been tested yet but so far they haven’t put a foot wrong. It’s still early days with three of their remaining Super Eights games against danger teams. Next up they have the chance to beat the Poms.

Hayden got 101, Ponting and Clarke just missing out on centuries (91 and 92 respectively).

Symonds got 18 off 13, bowled in the last over. His bowling wasn’t the best, but at least he didn’t get ripped of the field injured :)
