re-read pride and prejudice

I’d already read Pride & Prejudice, but reading it a second time was great. There’s a lot of foreshadowing that I didn’t carch before. And, even though I knew how the ending went I still got excited to see Elizabeth and Darcy together. Yay.

I have never seen the original version of Pride and Predjudice, but the newer version with Kira Knightly was sorely disappointing. I read Pride and Predjudice a few months ago then saw the movie. The movie didn’t come close to doing it justice. I’m re-reading the book now and the more I read, the more I dislike the movie. The directing and the acting were all wrong. Several times in the book it mentions Darcy smiling. Did he smile at all in the movie? And Elizabeth (Knightly) was too mischeivious and not laid back cheerful enough. On top of that, the movie was just too rushed. It didn’t show the real characters.

Anyhoo, I could go on forever. My point is, the book is AMAZING. Do not judge the story by it’s movie.
