Christine loves bumbling around in Belgium

So my Dad is sick 2 years ago

if I was in Germany, I would have probably visited him in hospital every day. But now, I am in Australia and have more than neglected inquiring about his well-being. Being away from home makes it so easy,... it is an excuse nobody will questions…

I do feel a little guilty. When I was a kid he wrote me a letter every second day in the four years he spent working oversees. We have a massive folder with all his letters. And I don’t even send him a card or something.
Fact of the matter is he doesn’t even expect anything from me. That is sad, isn’t it?

Mothers Day is coming up soon. One of those days which I could happily ignore the past 7 years as well. I would send her an email or call her… no need for presents. If I had been there with her she’d be treated like a queen… this way my “I would if I could” excuse bails me out again. This sucks. I hate neglecting all the traditions we had. We used to spend those special holidays as a family and celebrate.

My family is the bomb. I am so worried I don’t show them how much I care about them while I can. If my Dad died now I’d seriously be bummed. Seriously.
