I used to be really quiet. I would sing well but it just wouldn’t come out. The day I just sang out as loud as I could so many things opened up. Also, don’t try to do a range that you cannot actually do. I was a soprano half my singing career so far but I found out that I’m more suited for alto. I’m so glad I am because high notes are annoying to me when they aren’t on trumpet. ;D
(You can look at my ‘i’ve done this’ if you’d like a bit more I suppose…)
How to improve my voice
How I did it: I started becoming more and more serious since I started chorus in 4th grade, but I've sang all my life. I'm one of the top few in my school (We can't say, we have different ranges.) and it takes practice. Though I was in chorus, all county chorus, got perfect scores at NYSSMA, was offered to be in area-all state (I chose band<3)... I consider myself self-taught. Almost. I play a bunch of other instruments so that helps. I also sing everyday anf my vibrato is superb~ Everything falls back to practice.
Lessons & tips: PRACTICE! If you do it a lot, you'll improve most likely. Though in some cases, practice doesn't help. Some people are born unable to sing well and it cannot be helped. But don't have me stop you. I just happen to have perfect pitch. Not my fault I was born that way. Just work hard.
Resources: Idk what to really say about resources except consult professionals (teachers) or get private lessons. I never took private lessons (for vocals) but I can still sing better than some that do. Everything depends, especially when it's involving something on/in your body that you can't control completely.

I discovered there is a voice and diction class at my community college. I do not think I really have the time to take the class next semester, but would consider it. I do not know if there would be much homework involved. It would be considerably cheaper than private coaching.
Something I can consciously work on before then is my projection (a.k.a. I’m loud). I also raise my voice so that I am shouting often, not angrily just speaking too loudly. I believe it comes across uncouth. I will try to keep track of this in the up coming days.
liebelle dances to music... really slowly
My voice is utterly unattractive. Speaking louder and clearer is better, but unfortunately I’m wearing a plate for a few weeks that is very awkward to speak it (lisp, et cetera).
My problem is I have a low voice and don’t project well. Also unless I really concentrate or am emotional my voice does not variate much and comes out monotone. I need to put more air behind my voice and focus on being more expressive.
Did voice practice twice today!! Will start practicing at the church when I move into an apartment.

This just might not make the cut this weekend. It’s nice, and I’ll do it for fun (e.g. choir) but it’s not really a priority, unless I change my values.

And my 5th grade teacher would speak softly so that a person would have to try and hear them. It gets listeners to lean in and pay attetion. Also Jackie O. Would drag out her sss and such for a more sensual tone. I would like to incorperate this.
