finish NaNoWriMo

Okay, I’m just above 14,000 words now with only a week remaining. I will keep this goal up as a reminder for next year. This year I am shooting for 20k words by the end of the month. I think I can pull it off even with the holiday in there.

I’ve done it last year and I’m planning to do it again this year.

but I am going to find a way to do this in 2009. I just set up my account, and I started a google doc to keep track of my ideas as they progress. Here’s my account:

I’ve attempted for four or five years now, and only finished once. I was somewhere around fifteen, so it’s not something I’m proud of, aside from the fact that it’s long.

Novels have never been easy for me… writing comes easy, but the patience to write that much, the drive to follow through, isn’t really there. At the same time, I have too complex ideas to fit into short stories. Basically, I’m a poet at heart, but I know I need to push myself.

I’ve got the idea, the storyline, now I just need the gut to see it through. Just wait, November, I’ll get you this time!

I totally did this, nanowrimo 2008.
First time I REALLY attempted to go through with it, and it turned out to be surprisingly easy. ;) Just because it was so much fun, and my character wanted their story to be told ;)
