End of October – started reading Little Earthquakes – Jennifer weiner
Hope to complete it by beginning of November and start a new book and complete it in November.
So I’ve made some progress

I finished _The Metamorphosis _ by Franz Kafka. Another existentialist sleeping pill, but it’s finished and put away.

I now can confidently use the adjective “Kafka-esque.”

I have quite a few books started right now, but none have been finished in about 3 months of reading.

I’m going to finish Atlas Shrugged first.

I just finished reading The 5 Important Things. Amongst other things, this is a great book to remind us not to give up. Don’t Quit! Certainly worth a read.

I finished the book yesterday. I didn’t think much of the book initially. However, I came to a point in my new cleaning business where I thought I would give up as I wasn’t getting any clients. I read a chapter about perserverance and how most people give up when the going gets tough. He suggested to hang in there and stay positive and upbeat. I decided I would be positive about the situation rather than moaning about it. I put out some flyers that afternoon and the very next day I got 2 calls and tomorrow I find out if one will be a new client.

It’s tough to stay positive in the bad times. But trust me… There’s no use complaining. You’re better off being positive and doing something that will help you move closer to your goal.

Finished Peter F Hamilton’s ‘Pandoras Star’ got sraight on to the sequel. Also concurrently reading ‘Halting State’, ‘Judas Unchained’, ‘K-Pax (trilogy edition) and may even start ‘Anathem’ too.

If you have kids this is a book that you need to read. It talks about how reading aloud to your kids everyday will help them learn to read once they are in school.

I am a primary school teacher and this book enlightened me so much it has changed the way I teach reading in school.
