Chile is an absolutely beautiful place, and I can’t wait to (hopefully) visit it. Most likely the area around Bosque de Fray Jorge National Park.
How to visit Chile
How I did it: i found an apartment online - via contactchile.cl - and got a plane ticket close to the time i'd be traveling (through the airline), which ended up being a lot cheaper. the apartment was cheaper because i came to chile for a month, and hostels are paid per night. it's been a great experience, and i'm glad to be staying in the part of chile that i am. we're out of the center of the city but it ends up being really quiet and safe, while also accessible to the rest of santiago!

I went to help build a church for Chileans that were meeting in a small house, several would just stand outside during the service. Certainly profitable, well worth the expense and time. I’ll be going back after I can ‘make do’ with my Spanish, which needs polishing.
I spent a couple of months in Concepcion and points south, and it was wonderful. I expect to be back, and hope to do more touring in Santiago and the wine country, and perhaps to the far south.
I only got to visit Santiago on business but it was a beautiful city and I really enjoyed myself. I totally want to go back and see the rest of the city.
For me it was a trip to visit my family. Five weeks with them and I almost didn’t want to go back home! I haven’t travelled a lot, it was mostly going back and forth between Santiago, Lago Rapel, Valdivia and Isla del Rey. But the things I’ve seen…where beautiful! The people even more. I had a huge welcome party, organised by the neighbours of my aunt. They didn’t even know me! People who don’t have much to spend, but are willing to give you anything that’s possible for them to give. Saying goodbye to them was really difficult. Saying goodbye to my family even more. Hopefully I will see them all in about 3 years, when I return with my boyfriend and maybe a little one as a surprise for my grandmother…
I was born in Jersey city nj but i am chilean….i visited twice in my life once when i was 3 and once when i was 7…i`v been dying to go back and see the gorgeous scenery, visit my family and party!!! i`m planning a trip in febuary….i hope i can make it!!!!!
it is possible that i will do south america instead of prague, but this will be my next goal after that if not!
We’ve been planning a project in Chile for years now, and it looks like it might actually happen soon. Ever since December of last year, I’ve been told to expect to travel there “sometime next month”. A lot of months have come and gone since then, but it looks like this time it may actually happen. By the end of next month, I’ll be on a drilling project in Chile.
