Coqueangela is super happy I'm living in this moment in time.

This is definitely still in the cards.... 13 months ago

But highly unlikely where I live right now. I live on an island where it’s very difficult NOT to have a car. I am making my part by using it as little as possible.

I do plan to move to Boston in the next 15 years, and I know that there I will not need a car, because the T system there and the bus is awesome.

I will be living in DC for most of the summer, and I plan to use the metro for mostly everything. I’m excited about not having to spend money on gas that whole time!

Looking to move from NYC 19 months ago

I have lived in NYC for five years, but the ridiculous cost is getting to me. However, having lived here and in urban Minneapolis, being walking distance (or mass transit-distance) from everything I could want is very important to me! I also wouldn’t mind nice weather, but that’s just a bonus. My mom lives in Tucson, so I’m considering that. I also like Portland a lot. It’s also important that the town be LGBT friendly, and have good schools.

Seattle has a fantastic Metro system (its only flaw being that it needs to run just a tiny bit more often) and I havent had any need of a car since I moved here. I felt bad at first that I wasnt pushing myself to get my drivers license, and justified it by citing rising gas prices, and car insurance. But my dad, he just put his hands on my shoulders and said, “Your Aunt Janette has been living in Seattle all 52 years of her life and never had her license and she’s done just fine.” Aunt Janette isnt some homeless bag lady or anything, shes actually rather successful, so I immediately felt better :)

London has excellent public transport. You can get home at anytime of the night and it’s pretty much safe. I actually like to drive, so I miss it a bit, but it’s cool because you don’t have to worry about who drinks or being too tired to drive home.

Public transportation can be pretty cool, expecially if you’re not used to it. Subways, buses, light rails, trains, ferries, taxis everywhere. Even direct and express routes to far away places! There is something to be said for a big population.

It would be great to live in a place where cars were prohibited, everyone would be alot healthier and the air quality would be awesome.
