I think I have done quite well on this goal so far but its easy to fall behind – I move around (as in location!) quite a bit and each move provides a good opportunity to get rid of stuff that isn’t really necessary – not being able to fit into my backpack is also an important factor! Have been selling as much as I can via online auctions and being ruthless with clothes I don’t really wear or like. I have decided that in terms of non-essential material possessions I only want to have 4 items; a digital camera, a small book collection (covering travel, shares and personal development), a computer and a house. Yes, I am aware that a house is a huge item, but it will be furnished in minimalist style and in buying one I will be able to reduce the number of financial products I have – currently 17 – bank accounts (4), building society accounts (2), endownment policies (3), share accounts (3), investment products (2) etc. – another collection of clutter that is on my list of things to reduce.

to do this, because I’m moving again soon and I have to pare down to essentials. Which is challenging, but good. Was reading on ZenHabits and a few other places about limiting oneself to 100 possessions, which I’m not sure I can do but I can come close probably. the link to the story is here:

I don’t think this goal is ever really done, but I did well last year, and next month this will be a success out of necessity. Only so many things can fit into my car.

There’s so much clutter in my life!!! Emotional and physical. Had a MASSIVE cleanup this weekend and I feel really positive about it. The flood gates have opened…..

is slowly decreasing- since we have a lot of downtime at work right now, my assistant and I have each been bringing a mess of old paperwork to the office every day and sorting it out there. I take my labeler and a stack of file folders, and come home with a nice neat box. Having paper clips and staplers right at hand makes it go faster as well… at the rate we’re going, I should be done with mine in a week or two at the most!

is done! That wasn’t so painful. Next project will be the kitchen cupboards. They’re not terrible, but they definitely need some help.

So much clutter… even after moving and throwing a ton away! I need to divide this into mini-goals if it is ever going to get done, though.
- hall closet
- dining room
- library
- etc.
