I have my dress and i have my ticket. A date would be nice…
I didn’t go to my Jr. prom when I was a junior, but made up for it in my senior year by going to the Jr. prom, my Sr. prom, another formal dinner/dance, and the Jr. prom at Notre Dame High School.
Saturday, June 10th was prom. The theme was “Under the Stars,” and it was sponsored by Star 101.3 FM.
We went to dinner, beforehand, at The Cheesecake Factory, but they did have food there at the prom. They had these really yummy chocolate covered strawberries from The Melting Pot, and sushi (yuck!) from Benihana.
They played all 80’s music, which was cool. People were buting out some really funky moves, and it was so funny to watch. There was even a live performance from Rick Springfield. He looked exactly the same as he did on General Hospital and when he used to sing in the 80’s.
It’s really funny that out of all people to perform, Rick Springfield was there. It seems like all ties were to his former show General Hospital. See, in 1982 (when I was born), my mom named me after Laura, a character on the show. Laura in the show was married to Luke (same name as my bf). In 1982, Luke and Laura were a pretty hot and important couple on the show. Anyway, so we sit down at our table. This other couple, Jeff and Anne, introduce themselves to us, right? We introduce ourselves as “Luke and Laura,” and they were like, “That’s so GH!”
Okay, maybe you had to be there to find it funny.
As I’ve mentioned before, I never went to my high school prom, or anything like that. So, this one was very special to me. It was a lot of fun. I’m really glad that I had a chance to go.
But, I never got to go to any of my prom’s or dances in high school. So I’d like to go to a 2nd chance prom sometime. Or at least just a night where I can get dressed up and be taken out.
The prom was great! It was at the Harrisburg Hilton from 8-11. So get this. we were the ONLY couple that wore blue and white, and I was the ONLY girl that wore gloves and had baby’s breath (little flowers) in my hair. We got SO many stares and compliments. I’ve never been stared at so much in my life! AND, we’ll be in the paper!! I’d like to thank my mom and dad, and my sister, and everyone else for making the prom a wonderful night and experience that i will NEVER forget! I LOVE YOU ALL!!
