My bangs are long, nearly the same length as the rest of my hair. Last time I grew my hair out, I ended up with a new habit of playing with the left front lock. This ends up in major split ends, loose hair anywhere and just plain looks silly. I tend to do it with different locks when my hair is loose, which it isn’t often. That’s because it annoys me, but also because I don’t want some bits to be smooth where I’ve played with it and some to be the natural curly bit. So I’ve decided to stop. Now just to figure out how….
Have been a hair twirler/player for years now, especially when slightly nervous/anxious or bored or restless. LOL. Basically far too much. Can’t help myself. Benzodiazepines help though, hah.
I’ve played with my hair since I was a teenager, so it’s been 15 years now (!). I pull it and twist it all the time, when I’m thinking, paying attention, or when I’m stressed or just tired.
I do it many times a day – if I counted, it would be probably several hundreds of times a day. It has become more intense for a couple of years, I mean I do it in public and at work whereas I didn’t do that before.
I really, really want to stop. If anybody has suggestions or experiences to share with me, that would be fantastic.
It was hard to break the habit of playing in my hair, since I had been playing in hair since I was born, it was always just too awesome to run my fingers through. But now, 17 years later, I have broken the habit, and my hair doesn’t get so flippy! :)
Evreytime im nervous or bored or even just studying i tend to play with my hair directly!! sometimes even if im just talking to people i unconciously start playing with my hair…i think i should stop that habbit as fast as possible!! ill try to approach this by telling myself to get my hands off my hair evreytime i attempt to give in to this annoying habit that can actually be distracting and makes me even more nervouss!!
