weed the garden

made some definite progress, but man was it hot. there’s still a lot to do though.

ok, maybe we took on too much adding a veggie garden, because the weeding required is crazy between that and the flower beds. My plan is to absolutely kill this this weekend though.

I guess I am forced to admit that I will have to succumb to using some type of chemical to get rid of the weeds! There is too much area to cover, & not enough time, so I will try “weed and feed” which I have heard works well. Plus others pointed out that if I pull the weeds myself, the seeds could still stay in the soil. I am such a newbie at all of this and will just keep working on making our yard pretty!

I’ve been weeding the front/back yard as often as I can. Especially on weekends, I will weed for hours under the blazing, hot sun (I don’t want to use chemicals) and just be “grounded”. I love getting to know my yard, and plants and knowing that all the hard work I’m doing is for our place! It’s a big job, but I know it will eventually get done :D

The council is giving away free plants at my local shopping centre again on Saturday morning…... I will have no choice but to make room for them.

but next weekend I should have a weekend free from work related work.

I was happily weeding when I noticed the very messy web next to me. I took a stick and was hunting for the likely owner, and found here inside a folded over leaf. I knew I probably ought to kill it. So I tried to drown it in the rain barrel, but that proved impossible. So I had to do the hard thing and squash her. I felt bad. I said “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry” meanwhile squash squash squash. with a piece of wood. So I was then no longer motivated to weed, and I will probably be scared to for the next few weeks since her offspring have every reason to seek vengance.

The gardeners for our comunal flats just came and pulled up all the ivy that has been climbing up my bedroom windows for months. It was a surprise and I was embarrassed at the state the garden is in, but hurrah! It is done.

just argh!

but then the damn things all grew back!!! argh!
