Legionella is waiting for Ramadan to start so she only has to work 6 hours a day
It was a lovely place! Much better than what I’ve expected! It’s perfect to spend one day there! There is a castle, a palace and the UFO restaurant, and lovely cosy streets. I’m glad I visited finally. I only regret that I didn’t find that blue church.
LSL is making 2009 a great year
I visited Bratislava briefly in Nov. 2007 and loved it. The remnants of Soviet influence mixed with changes that have been made to invite tourism make it a lovely, interesting destination. Do it! You’ll be glad you did.
undercover_laura wants to make waves but is only splashing
small for a capital and not too much to see, but a great atmosephere, very friendly people, the most amazing blue church and easy on the eyes!!! worth a visit.
Went here in 2003.
Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. It offers an appealing glimpse of central European architecture, history and culture.
The city, just a short drive from both Hungary and Austria, spreads out on along the banks of the Danube River at the foot of the vineyard-dotted Low Carpathian Mountains. After decades of communist rule, Bratislava has recently undergone a cultural reawakening, and tourists are beginning to rediscover the city’s charming baroque old town, historic Gothic treasures, welcoming cafes and upbeat nightlife. In the heart of the museum-packed old town, visitors flock to Bratislava Castle, which served as a frontier post for the Roman Empire in the first century A.D. Restored most recently in the mid-1900s, the castle offers fascinating history and stunning views. An 11th century Gothic cathedral and the ruins of the royal palace of Hungary help tell the story of a city with a long and difficult past but a bright, cosmopolitan future.
I didn’t get the best out of it last summer so defenately one of those places I should visit twice (or more) in my life.
