I’ve had a lot of vanity plates in the past, some of which were easy to figure out, some not so easy. Here’s a list of the ones I can remember:
- PATTIE (that’s one of the easy ones)
- 87 W&M (my college and graduation year)
- FUNLOVR (Fun Lover, the name of a song by my then-favorite local band, but too many people misunderstood my intentions)
- 1 PARLGL (one paralegal)
- HKY FOTO (hockey photo, since I am photographer for the local pro hockey team, but too many people thought HKY stood for Hokie, the mascot of Va. Tech)
I bought a new car in December and have had standard plates while I tried to come up with a new combination. Finally, inspiration came, and while I had to play around with the letters to find one that wasn’t already taken, I got one in homoage to one of my nicknames from Iraq (with bonus of serving as a hockey reference, too):
