Mikhail Nikolayevich If Heaven made someone, earth can find some use for them

wiggy 12 months ago

He oozes down the heating duct
Swims like seaweed down the hall
He briefly digs your wiggy pad
And seeps out through the wall

Donald Fagen Morph the cat

wiggy so possibly used in the sense of playful, loud or perhaps spiffy, spiffed up, in the Fagen lyric.

~ John Lee ~ setting my sights lower so I can set them higher

regionally all over the nation 13 months ago

It’s funny because for the most part, other than the deepest depths of the Southeastern United States, people cannot decipher any sort of accent, unless I have any sort of nasal/sinus thing going on. Then, as JenniferParis can attest, I sound like Joe Pesci in My Cousin Vinny, which, living so close to New York City no one here thinks is odd at all.

I would like to start using this more, except it doesn’t sound quite right in my funny, genteel Edinburgh accent:(

Jorge Hankamer WebFest A HELLA New Specifier by Rachelle Waksler.

I hypothesize that HELLA indicates a large proportion of the set denoted by the constituent it modifies. This analysis yields an interpretation as an intensifier or quantifier, depending on the denotation of the set it modifies. Syntactically, HELLA is a specifier of the Intensifier category, a more generalized intensifier than previously documented in English.

...heard of this one before

tripendicular

Awesome; literally “a triangle with three perpendicular sides”, a geometric impossibility, therefore synonymous with “unbelievable”; the stressing of the first syllable is by association with “trip”, referring to the experience felt while under the effects of illicit drugs.
