I’ve always been a casual fan of baseball and have many good childhood memories of trips to the ballpark. My husband is a huge White Sox fan so I’ve gotten more into them and baseball in general over the last couple of years due to his baseball fever. This year, Eric joined a softball league for the first time. He’s never played an organized sport in his life so he’s pretty nervous and excited about it. Tonight was the first game Audrey and I were able to make. The team lost, but Eric did well. He had a good play in the field and batted in one of the team’s two runs. We ended the night with Eric teaching Audrey “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” She’s supposed to be asleep right now, but I hear her in there singing it to herself:)

There are only 3 now, one did not make it. The 3 that are left are getting big and sing alot.

I got this shot of the mother and chicks through the window.

We’ve had a couple of thunderstorms in the last week or so. I love them!
It’s so nice to ease out of the cooped up in the house feeling of winter into the hours at the park frolicking feeling of Spring. Today wasn’t our first trip to the park this Spring, but it may have been our best. I packed a small picnic and Audrey and I headed out for a couple of hours of park-time. There was endless swinging, sliding, and climbing in the perfect weather.

This morning I went out to get the paper and peeked in the fern to see this!!
Though I get tired of rain if it shows up more than a day or two in a row, I do enjoy a nice Spring shower, and our weekend has been a soggy one. Of course, our temperatures have been more on the wintry side, and there was even a bit of snow mixed in here and there. Audrey is a huge fan of the rain now that she can deck herself out in galoshes, raincoat, and umbrella. I think the sight of her in this get-up would make anyone wish for rain.

Believe it or not, I can always tell when Spring is arriving because the spiders wake up and come out! During the peak, I come across one or two in my house per day! I got one last night, and I suspect it’s just the beginning.
Not that I celebrate spiders… But if it means that Spring is here, I won’t complain (as much)!

I love springtime very, very much. Now… if only it would arrive! We’re expecting snow flurries all week. :( But when it’s finally here, I intend to enjoy every second of it!
On second thought, I hear birds chirping out back, much more than in the winter. I’ll consider that celebration #1!

the Ma bird, it’s just the top of her head. I think she is a Finch.I had to get the photo from the window because she flies away every time I go out on the porch.
