I had to stop thinking about being in shape as a chore. I hiked the Grand Canyon this summer and saw my body in a whole new way. The training I did was to help me accomplish a goal…not necessarily just to look good. I needed to be strong to survive the hike. When I did it, I felt so empowered! I’ve now rediscovered my love for all things outdoors and have made my “work-outs” based on activities and fun. Also, having a goal definitely helps! I’m doing my first bike race in a few weeks :)

my problem is being too thin not like obesity which is the new millenium’s problem.I am nearly 1.80 and my weight differs between 52-55.I don’t know,I like eating, and I like fatty/heavy meals.Nevertheless,I don’t cross the 55 kilo limit.
However I must gain some weight not only because of health but also because of strong appearance.(Not that I am weak phsycally,in fact,I am stronger than most people think when they see me.That is one more mystery.)I suppose I must eat protein and carbonhydrate based meals and do exercise.I think getting 5-10 kilos will be enough for me.
If you eat vegan and exercise you can get rid of your toxins and feel healthy and strong, but the effort it takes to maintain that edge is not worth it.
It all works together – the physical, mental, emotional, spiritual – if one area is out of whack, you know it. If you focus on one area obsessively and leave out the others, you know it. They affect each other for good and for bad. AND YOU KNOW IT! So do what you have to do to be healthy and strong.
Have already done so many things this past year towards that end. I’ve given up some bad habits altogether; added flax seed oil and eating breakfast almost daily; settled my school direction with outside advise; did a 3 month class of pilates; took up running; switched to C2; tried out a book club; found a great hairstylist; made educated adjustments to my supplements; have lost 35 pounds and feel awesome again; actively practice “starting” to correct my procrastination; drink green tea almost daily. Wonderful adjustments in righting myself. Now I’m ready to figure out the next steps I’d like to take.
